ABOUT ME

Filmmaker . Director .

I am Gurpreet Singh Palheri, a dedicated and passionate professional in the Indian film industry, specializing as a writer, line producer, and director. My journey in the world of cinema began in my hometown, Palheri village near Chandigarh, Punjab, where I was born into a family of dairy farmers.

My early career took an unexpected turn from the merchant navy to the film industry when I met producer Darshan Aulakh. This pivotal meeting led me to assist in the production of the iconic film "Veer-Zaara" (2004), marking the start of my film career. I further honed my skills with Aulakh in the film "Yaara Naal Bahara" (2005).

In 2009, I founded my own company, Kisan Productions, and produced the film "Kisaan". Over the years, I have worked as a line producer on numerous successful projects, including:

  • Crazy Mad Lover (2011)

  • Son of Sardaar (2012)

  • Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 (2013)

  • Jatt James Bond (2014)

  • Punjab 1984 (2014)

  • Ghayal Once Again (2016)

  • Ardaas (2016)

  • Ambarsariya (2016)

  • Manje Bistre (2017)

  • Super Singh (2017)

My role as a writer has also been significant, with notable works such as:

  • Dhan Guru Nanak (2016) (Music Video)

  • Saab Bahadar (2017)

  • Sajjan Singh Rangroot (2018)

  • Aar Nanak Paar Nanak (2018)

  • Nikka Zaildar 3 (2019)

In addition to these, I have served as a project supervisor for "Jodi" (2023) and an associate director for "Shukar Dattea" (2016). My contributions have earned special thanks in films like "Maurh" (2023) and "Laung Laachi" (2018).

In 2024, I made my directorial debut with the web series "Sarpanchi". This series dives deep into the vibrant and sometimes tumultuous political landscape of Punjab’s villages, portraying the journey of Bant Singh, a young man thrust into the complexities of Sarpanchi elections.

"Sarpanchi" was filmed in various villages including Rupalheri and Kheri Bir Singh, and near Bassi Pathana, Punjab. It stars renowned actors such as Jass Bajwa, Sardar Sohi, Kuljinder Sidhu, Gurinder Makhna, Irwin Meet Kaur, and Manna Mand.

I am deeply committed to bringing authentic stories to life, whether through writing, production, or direction. My work is a reflection of my roots and my passion for storytelling, aiming to present the rich cultural and social tapestry of Punjab to the world.
